We
are seeing quite a few new applications for Canopy
besides the normal ISP and residential set up. Here
are a few ways to increase your Canopy sales by
targeting new markets. We have seen a large increase
in "hot spot" applications. These can be
coffee shops, hotel lobbies, schools and even a
residential site that has a security concern. We have
also seen an increase in non-WISP sales of both Canopy
and Colubris, one of WAV’s WLAN security solutions.
We have had business partners present applications
ranging from within hospitals to schools and
enterprise solutions.
Using
a product from Colubris at the end of a subscriber
module (or Canopy backhaul) can provide a secure
"hot spot". WAV’s unique relationship with
Colubris has helped come up with a white sheet diagramming
how to marry the two product lines. Some of
the advantages of the Colubris unit include built in
VPN security, the ability to require individual log on
passwords, and to provide a true "secure
network" within 300ft of the access point.
A
few examples of how to use these products together...
-
Coffee shop:
Starbucks
is already doing this. There has been a lot of
interest in this from smaller coffee shop owners to the
ISP's wanting to know how to achieve this.
-
Airport/hotel lobby:
Again, quite a few airports and hotels are all
ready offering this service which includes the ability
to do billing and tracking if desired.
-
Home use:
For people that want to be sure that their
information is safe to have true network security for
their home.
Adding
Colubris to the list of complimentary products in
conjunction with Canopy not only creates more sales
opportunities for the business partner, but gives the
customer’s/end user’s the security they desire.
