In today’s world it is very common to take a computer with you just about everywhere. Whether it be travel, home use, a remote worksite or for use in the office, it seems most people find value in being able to carry their computer with them. This continues to be a growing market for our resellers as they maximize end-user opportunities. This article should serve as a great introduction to pen computing and the Fujitsu PC and Itronix product lines.   

Their standard laptops (Lifebooks) are configurable however desired. Some of those choices include the Intel^® Pentium Ultra Low Voltage 733 processor (which delivers extended battery life), DVD writer, integrated a/b/g wireless, and Intel Centrino Mobile Technology. These are very impressive and dependable units. We have found many successful resellers who have integrated this product line into AIDC and broadband applications. For Data Collection and warehousing applications, we have added these products to the end user’s sales force and/or warehouse personnel. Pen Tablets have been extremely popular as well. There is an open face version and the convertible unit for those who like the functionality of a tablet but the design of a conventional laptop. Tablet PC’s are configurable like a standard Lifebook. Many doctor’s offices and hospitals use Tablet’s in lieu of conventional PCs for patient records. The practicality of the Tablet doesn’t end there though. Real estate agents, students, appraisers, mobile personnel in a large facility, and various install technicians can all use Pen Tablets. The GoBook Tablet PC is a rugged “slate” Tablet PC, that offers the choice of using a Tablet PC in environmentally challenging situations. It is configurable to work with any wireless network given the multiple integrated technologies that are available. The Tablet is ideal for industries such as insurance, telecommunications, public safety and commercial field service. Also, this unit is extremely popular with resellers that sell to tower climbers and Internet Service Providers. It is much more sensible to use in those applications than a regular computer. Itronix does over three levels of service as well through WAV that can include hot spares, 24 hour turn around, and the coverage of damage.
