The MikroTik hEX PoE Five Port Gigabit Ethernet Router is designed for locations where wireless connectivity is not needed. It features a USB 2.0 port and an SFP port to add optical fiber connectivity. Ports 2-5 can also power other PoE-capable devices with the same voltage as applied to the unit, reducing the need for additional power adapters and cables. Despite its affordable and compact design, the hEX PoE boasts a powerful 800MHz CPU capable of handling advanced configurations supported by RouterOS. The Ethernet ports are shielded, and each port can provide a maximum current of 1A, depending on the input voltage (12-30V or 31-57V).
Additionally, the hEX PoE supports passive PoE input and passive or 802.3af/at PoE output. With a 48V DC input, it can power 802.3af/at devices, although a separate 48V power supply is required for this feature. The unit provides a maximum current of 450mA for each port, without supporting PoE powered device classification.
